For this assignment, you must first locate a recent 4 x 6 photograph of yourself (find a photo of just you, or cut other people out if necessary). Look for a photo that you feel truly resembles the way you look at this point in your life; hopefully it is one you actually like! If what you are doing (i.e., playing a favorite sport) or where you are (i.e., a recent vacation spot) in the picture tells us something about you, that’s a plus!
Then, find a full sheet of construction paper, scrapbook paper (12x12) or something similar (no white computer paper and definitely NOT notebook paper). Mount your photograph securely to this paper, and underneath, write your first and last name neatly, in capital letters, and using a thick, bold marker. These will become classroom decorations, and we want everyone to see your name.
Most importantly: you must decorate your “Picture Card”! Not only should you make it as attractive and interesting as possible, but you should attempt to use items that are unique and that represent important areas of your life. For example, if you love the color red and really like to surf, I hope I’d be able to get that from looking at your card! Students in the past have done a knock-out job on this assignment, using 3-D items or other items I’d never have expected: maybe you can do better! It will be affixed to the cinderblock wall, so PLEASE be sure it is not too heavy to hang up.
This assignment is due at the very beginning of class on Thursday - you don't get time to finish it in class - and you will be required to present it to the class.
